The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel, has unveiled plans to commence the construction of an International Adire Hub within the council area.

During an inspection of the proposed project site, the Chairman explained that the initiative seeks to promote Nigerian culture and heritage, while also providing a vibrant platform for designers, vendors, and enthusiasts to showcase and celebrate the timeless art of Adire fabric.

Hon. Daniel stressed that beyond its cultural significance, the Adire Hub will function as an economic catalyst, generating employment opportunities, empowering local artisans, and strengthening the council’s internally generated revenue (IGR).

He further highlighted that the project will create sustainable income streams for residents through fashion, textile production, and tourism-related ventures, positioning Itire-Ikate as a hub of creativity and cultural enterprise.

Reassuring residents, the Chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering people-focused projects that enhance livelihoods, foster cultural pride, and stimulate grassroots economic growth across all wards of the LCDA.

Accompanying him on the inspection were the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Coun. Andrew Olaoluwa Agbeyangi, the Council Engineer, the Head of Unit for Tourism, and other top management officials, who all pledged their support towards the successful execution of the project.
