Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has been comforted by Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, ahead of his wife’s November 29 funeral.
Obi asked God to give Governor Eno the courage and strength to “get through the tough times.”
He made the remark in a post on X while disclosing that he took a solemn trip to Uyo, the state capital to personally pay his last respects to the late First Lady.
According to Obi: “Yesterday, I made a very solemn trip to Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, to personally pay my last respects to the beloved wife of the Governor and First Lady of the state, Pastor Mrs Patience Eno.
“I also used the occasion to offer my condolences to the Governor of the State, His Excellency Umo Eno, over the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife.
“In moments of grief like this, words often fail us, but I hope the governor, his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom would find solace in the outpouring of love and support from all who share in their sorrow.
“On behalf of my wife, Margaret, and the entire Obidient family, I extended our heartfelt sympathies to His Excellency, his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom State.
“We stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will grant you the strength and fortitude to navigate these difficult times”
