John was a lamp, alight and shining! Jesus is the light!!
Isaiah 56:1-3,6-8 John 5:33-36
In today’s Gospel, Jesus says that the works he performs are testimony that God has sent him. What are the works that we are called to accomplish? How can we, who seek to be good and loving people, name and further the cause of justice? Christmas, perhaps, is a beautiful gift wrapped in a question: am I observing rightly; am I acting justly? Do I paint the wrong impression of someone to others? The prophet Isaiah speaks to us today, too about truth and justice. Let us ask ourselves: Do we own up to our own actions? Do we respond to situations in a way that we won’t regret our actions Let us observe what is right, and do what is just.
