Airmen have been notified that all flights within the United States have been grounded due to a Federal Aviation Administration system failure.
According to NOTAM, the impact on flights could be global.
The Federal Aviation Administration also confirmed that the outage related to his NOTAM, a critical communication and instruction to the flight crew, all personnel involved in operations, ATC, etc.
The FAA noted that there is no estimated recovery time and flights cannot resume until the problem is resolved.
In response, the FAA has ordered all airlines to suspend domestic departures until 9 a.m. ET.
The commission said the suspension “was intended to allow agents to verify the integrity of their flight and safety information.” No word yet on a total moratorium on.
