Lyon Terminates Player’s, Contract For Farting In Locker Room

Published on

After being spotted farting in the locker room and joking about it, Lyon has reportedly expelled defender Marcelo.

Last August, the Ligue 1 club confirmed that the defender had been moved to the reserves for inappropriate behaviour.

Before being benched, Marcelo had started the team’s first two games of the season. On matchday two, he scored an own goal in a 3-0 loss against Angers, which was his final game for Lyon.

According to GFFN, the 34-year-old farted loudly in the locker room after the disastrous match. To make matters worse, he’s accused of laughing about it.

Juninho, a club legend and sporting director, is alleged to have been angered by Marcelo’s action.

The player was demoted to the reserves before his contract was terminated in January.

Since 2017, the Brazilian has been with Lyon, helping them reach the Champions League semi-finals. Before his contract was terminated in January, he played 11 times for Lyon’s reserve squad.

Marcelo signed for Bordeaux on a free transfer after becoming a free agent.
