Man Arrested After Murdering His Parents With Pestle

Munkaila Adamu, 37, was detained in Jigawa State’s Gagarawa Local Government Area for the murder of his parents.

According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, a spokesperson for the State Police Command, who verified the news in a statement, the event took place on September 1, 2022, at the Unguwar Malamai Quarters in Gagarawa town.

Shiisu stated that the suspect struck his mother, Hauwa Ahmadu, 60, and his father, Ahmad Muhammad, in their bedroom with a wooden pestle.

His 70-year-old father, Muhammad, was the village head.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspect also assaulted two other residents of the community.

Kailu Badugu, 65, and Hakalima Ahmadu, 50, who were injured, are currently receiving medical attention at the hospital.

The police stated they have detained the suspect and are starting an investigation, although they were unable to determine the reason for his behaviour.

DSP Lawan claimed that after being taken to General Hospital Gumel, the parents were declared dead.

According to the PPRO, the “suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.”

Meanwhile, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida, the Jigawa State Police Command’s commissioner of police, has ordered that the matter be transferred right away to SCIID Dutse for a discreet investigation and potential prosecution of the offender.
