Man Discovers Pastor Who Officiated His Wedding Is The Father Of His 2 Children

Published on

A pastor from Chiredzi’s End Time Messages church was unexpectedly compelled to pay child support when it was discovered through DNA testing that he was the father of two children with the woman whose wedding he presided over.

When it became apparent that Farai Hatirarami was not the biological father of the children Fatai had mistakenly assumed were his, Eunice Mururi and Hatirarami’s marriage collapsed. Mururi recently brought Pastor Vhetu before Chiredzi Magistrate Court to request US$700 per month in child support for her two children, who are four and eight years old.

In an unexpected turn of events, Pastor Vhetu admitted in court to fathering the children while requesting a lower maintenance payment. He maintained that his salary as a pastor is mostly derived from tithes and offerings, which are frequently in the form of food hampers rather than cash. Vhetu, represented by Farai Chauke of F. Chauke and Associates, stated that he did not have a regular paycheck and could only afford 150 ZiG per child in maintenance.

Vhetu disclosed that in addition to his pastoral responsibilities, he farms and is already providing for eight more children. He assured the court that he just has an EcoCash account and no bank account, and he promised to pay for the kids’ school supplies and tuition. Nevertheless, he made the contentious suggestion that new clothing should only be purchased in June or December, mockingly declaring that “only Elon Musk’s children receive new clothes every month.”

Vhetu’s offer was deemed “insincere” by Magistrate Diana Musiiwa, who rejected his justifications and ordered him to pay US$175 per month for each of the two children. The pastor’s actions and the breakdown of the marriage he previously officiated have surprised many people in the community, leaving them in disbelief.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
