Manchester United To Use Want-Way Marcus Rashford In Swap Deal For Victor Osimhen

Marcus Rashford’s likely departure from Manchester United could pave the way for Victor Osimhen to join the club, according to a new report.

Ruben Amorim, the head coach, has dismissed the 27-year-old from the squad in recent weeks. In reality, he has not played a minute of football since his team’s 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest on December 7.

Goal.com reported on Thursday, December 2, that Rashford wants to finish his career in Europe after turning down three offers from Saudi clubs. He reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign a deal worth £ 675,000 per week in order to restore his place in the England squad.

As a result, various UK and Italian media outlets have reported that a move to Napoli is being considered. Antonio Conte’s team is now in second place in the Italian top flight and is trying to add another forward to secure the league title, according to The Sun.

They are interested in Rashford, and it is claimed that this might pave the way for the Red Devils to sign Victor Osimhen as part of an exciting exchange deal.

Osimhen was close to joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through due to disagreements over personal issues. During the transfer window, the striker joined Galatasaray on loan for the 2024/25 season. So far in Turkey, he has 12 goals and five assists in 15 games.

Osimhen scored 76 goals for Napoli in 133 games, helping them win the scudetto in 2022/23 season.

United have only scored 21 league goals this season, with Rasmus Hojlund, particularly Joshua Zirkzee, coming under scrutiny. It is possible that the Old Trafford club is looking to add another forward during the winter transfer window in preparation for the second half of the season.

Osimhen’s contract reportedly includes a £62 million release clause, and any deal including Rashford would reunite the Manchester-born forward with former United player Scott McTominay in the Italian city.
