John Mikel Obi, a former Super Eagles midfielder, recalled how Mohamed Salah broke down in tears like a child after receiving criticism from Jose Mourinho following a poor performance at Chelsea.
Mikel Obi revealed in a Dailymail interview that Mourinho was never satisfied with Salah’s performance and could not control his rage.
He said, “I remember what Jose Mourinho did to Mohamed Salah. The guy was crying in the dressing room in the second half.
“I think he was having a bad game. And then obviously Mourinho came in and ripped into him, massively ripped into him.
“Salah was in tears. And then what happened? Mourinho didn’t let him back onto the pitch for the second half. He took him off.”
Salah joined Chelsea in 2015, while Mikel Obi did so in 2016.
The Egyptian, however, was assigned to successive loans at Fiorentina before he established himself at Roma.
