Genevieve Nnaji, a producer and actress in Nollywood, recently made her first public appearance in months where she delivered a speech on how to drive the expansion of Africa’s creative and cultural industries.
Nnaji spoke about the value of the film industry to the development of Africa at the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend on Saturday, according to the lifestyle blog Bella Naija.
CANEX is a gathering of Africa’s brightest creative minds, and business and political leaders. The event which runs from Friday, 25th November will end on the 26th of November on Sunday.
“Creativity thrives as an ecosystem and not alone,” she said, adding that the sector’s present $5 billion yearly contribution to the African economy could increase by a factor of four.
The actress also made her first social media post in months, uploading a picture of herself wearing a blue Tiffany Amber dress and appearing as elegant and regal as ever.
