PDP Wins All 30 LGAs In Osun

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all of the chairman and councillor seats in Osun State’s 30 local government areas (LGAs).

The elections for the seats were held today, February 22.

The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Hashim Abioye, made the announcement on Saturday, February 22.

The election was held today despite pleas from the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi, and the Police to postpone it.

The AGF claimed that on February 10, 2025, the Court of Appeal, Akure division, overturned the decision of the Federal High Court, Osogbo, given on November 25, 2022. He added that the appellate court’s decision suggested that the All Progressives Congress (APC) local council chairmen who had previously been fired by the lower court had been restored.

The police decided to suspend the polling based on intelligence reports of security threats during the election.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
