Pep Guardiola Names Player To Blame Following Man City Loss Against Brentford

Published on

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City has identified Ivan Toney, Brentford’s striker as the player who caused the most difficulty for his team during Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League loss.

Brentford overcame Man City at the Etihad Stadium thanks in large part to Toney’s performance.

Thomas Frank’s team upset the Premier League champions in front of their home crowd thanks to two goals from the English striker.

Phil Foden, however, scored Man City’s only goal in the match during the last minutes of the first half.

Pep speaking at his post-match press conference said, “We could not win any ball because when Toney flicked the ball, he created problems, when Toney kept the ball and played with the three players in the middle, he created problems. And we could not regain the ball in the end.”

With 32 points from 14 games, Man City still holds down the second spot on the table behind Arsenal.
