Le Parisien reports that Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has declined the opportunity to bring Neymar from PSG this summer.
City won the Premier League for the fourth time in five years last season, however, Guardiola’s team was defeated in the Champions League once again.
Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, and Kalvin Phillips have all been brought to the squad as part of City’s massive summer lineup, strengthening the effort to break their UCL jinx in the upcoming season.
Neymar, however, was not considered in Guardiola’s offensive lineup.
According to reports, City was approached about signing the Brazilian in recent weeks but turned it down.
PSG reportedly pushed for Bernardo Silva to be included in a prospective transfer, but City refused to accept the proposal.
This summer, Neymar’s future was in doubt since Luis Campos, the new sporting director of PSG, was eager to sell the 30-year-old player immediately.
