“President Zelenskyy Could Have Avoided This Blood Shed And Destruction If He Didn’t Choose To Be A Hero” – Anona Ugochukwu

A Facebook writer, Anona Ugochukwu has shared an interesting view on Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s decision to remain in the country and continue the resistance against the Russian attacks

Mr. Ugochukwu stated that Zelenskyy’s highest priority as a president should be the lives of his people, pointing out that the leader clearly missed it.

He said, “The primary duty of every leader is the protection of his people from internal and external aggression. The current war in Ukraine which is exposing Ukrainians to danger and harm shows that President Zelenskyy has failed in his duty.

“No matter, how you justify Zelenskyy’s world Hero status, his people are dying every day, destruction and more destruction are taking place. You don’t fight a war in your backyard; you will suffer huge losses.”

The writer believes that regardless of what is broadcasted by the media, Ukraine is not in a good position in this war, and with the further advancement of the Russian troops, NATO’s interference is almost impossible.

He said, “Forget the Media propaganda, as of today, President Zelenskyy controls less than 10% of Ukraine (only Kyiv); Russia controls the rest of Ukraine, and this morning, Putin’s troops are marching towards the capital Kyiv. Russia controls the Ukrainian airspace, land borders, and waterways. I wonder how NATO and EU are going to send their help.”

Given that Putin wants the ‘head’ of Zelenskyy and wishes to install a pro-Russian Government, Mr. Ugochukwu stated that President Zelenskyy has other options that will put an end to the war, protecting the lives and mental health of his people and preventing further destruction, rather than wanting to be a ‘hero’.

He said, “Zelenskyy has every available tool such as diplomacy, compromise, and negotiation at his disposal to stop this war. But he preferred to take on Russia with the hope of being a Hero. Sometimes, heroes are people who save others not people that exposed others to danger.

“The destruction that is happening in Ukraine now will take decades to rebuild and human lives are lost forever. Prisoners are on the street fighting war, young people are fighting war while fathers are being murdered every day. At the end of this war, how many people will Zelenskyy rule over?

“Not to mention the psychological/mental, socio-cultural effects of this war on Ukrainians.”

He stated that the best solution to the crisis is Zelenskyy’s forfeiting of his position.

“For the sake of Ukrainians, Zelenskyy should step down and a neutral leader should emerge to start the process of healing,” he said.
