PSG Goalkeeper And His Partner Attacked And Robbed In Paris

Gianluigi Donnarumma, the goalkeeper for Italy and Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, and his partner were attacked and robbed at their Parisian residence.

Early on Friday, the BBC reported that, according to police sources, the couple was held hostage at their apartment in the capital’s eighth district after being targeted by “a group of people.”

The couple allegedly had to flee to a nearby hotel, where hotel personnel sounded the alarm before the couple was brought to the hospital.

“An investigation has been opened on charges of armed robbery in an organised gang and aggravated violence following the events that took place overnight at Mr Donnarumma’s place,” a spokesperson for the Paris prosecutor’s office told the BBC.

Unverified allegations on the news website Actu17 claim that the attackers made off with jewels, watches, and expensive leather goods valued up to €500,000 (£430,000).

According to sources who spoke to Agence France Presse, the football player suffered just minor injuries, while his partner, model Alessia Elefante, remained unscathed.

The special BRB police squad in France that targets armed robberies and burglaries was alleged to have started an investigation by the prosecutor’s office.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, 24, was scheduled to join the Paris St. Germain team later on Friday prior to the club’s first preseason friendly encounter against Le Havre and a trip to Japan and South Korea.

He is not the only PSG goalkeeper to have been singled out by gangs, and the majority of such attacks have occurred when the victim is not at home.

Two guys received prison sentences in January of this year for robbing Brazilian footballer Marquinhos in March of 2021 in Yvelines, west of Paris.

At the time of the incident, Marquinhos was playing, but his father and two girls were at home. On the same day, a burglary occurred at the home of his teammate Angel Di Maria.
