According to a new rumour, Cristiano Ronaldo will receive an £850,000 bonus after scoring a hat-trick in Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Norwich on Saturday, April 16.

Ronaldo triggered a bonus-related provision in his contract after scoring 21 goals for the season on Saturday, according to The Sun UK.

Ronaldo’s deal contains a £750,000 extra if he scores 20 goals this season, as well as a further £100,000 if he scores a hat-trick.

According to the source, Ronaldo will now be paid £100,000 for any other goal he scored for the rest of the season.

Also, the club will award £1 million to their best scorer this season, and Ronaldo appears to be in place to win the prize, as he is 12 goals clear of his nearest rival, Bruno.

If Ronaldo scores 30 goals this season, he is expected to earn roughly £2.75 million in total rewards.

Ronaldo started the score with a tap-in in the seventh minute against Norwich, and he went on to make it 2-0 with a header. Norwich drew level at 2-2, but Ronaldo’s free-kick earned all three points for United.

United now sit in fifth place, three points behind Tottenham Hotspur. United now has to go to Liverpool and Arsenal for two crucial away games.
