Saudi Arabia Executes Man Who Planned To Attack People Under Direction Of ISIS

Saudi Arabia on Monday has executed a man in Riyadh for planning to target public civilian gatherings through a suicide mission under the direction of  ISIS.

According to Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior, the man had an explosive belt and photographs of the target with him. He had also sworn allegiance to ISIS and adopted their ideas.

In a statement issued by the Ministry, it states that the death sentence had been executed for the perpetrator, who is of Yemeni nationality, and said that he had “worked to target civilian gatherings in a public facility under the direction of the terrorist organization ISIS.”

After his arrest, the Ministry of the Interior said that the investigation with him resulted in accusing him of attempting to carry out his crime.


The statement pointed out that the Specialized Criminal Appeals Court and the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence, while “a royal order was issued to implement what was legally decided and supported by its reference against the aforementioned offender.”

And last month, Saudi Arabia executed a citizen who participated in the shooting of security men.

In October, Saudi Arabia also executed a citizen in the Eastern Province with links to a terrorist cell, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. He killed security men and a citizen and had materials for making a Molotov cocktail bomb.
