Several Women Arrested For Providing Bandits With Girls For Sex

In Kaduna state, the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), a special police unit tasked with combating kidnapping, has arrested several women for arranging sexual liaisons with bandits in the forest.

At Galadimawa forest in Kaduna State’s Giwa Local Government Area, one of the women arrested, a housewife, supplied bandits with ladies, including her daughters.

The housewife was identified as Maryam Abubakar. She was said to be the girlfriend of Isa Ibrahim, a notorious kidnapper.

On December 21, the 39-year-old woman from Rugar Hanwa in Sabon Gari Local Government was arrested.

She admitted to luring women to the bandits for sexual pleasure, including her own daughters and nieces.

Maryam claimed that her clients paid her N20,000 and that the women were driven to the forest on motorbikes.

Fatima Jibril, a girl from the Sakadadi area of Sabon Gari, was also arrested for supplying women to the bandits in collusion with her boyfriend, Muslim Abubakar, both residents of Sabon Gari.

When the girls they had previously obtained from the criminals in the forest failed to return, the syndicate was exposed.

Another woman, Jummai Ibrahim, was apprehended in the forest on suspicion of having an affair with the bandits’ kingpin.

Jummai claimed she surrendered to the bandits’ kingpin in order to protect her children and father from their wrath because the bandits threatened to kill them even after robbing the family of their cattle.

Some of the women claimed they had only spent one night with the bandits.

One of them claimed that the gunmen live with their wives, but that they (the women) are housed in separate locations from their families.

One of the girls claimed that the gunmen are difficult to be separated from their weapons as they are with it at all times, and also that the bandits had stockpiled food.
