Some desperate political jobbers are spreading false narratives about Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel’s eligibility to contest for the APC Chairmanship candidacy in Itire-Ikate LCDA. They claim he was “imposed” from Lagos Island, despite his well-documented roots and long-standing residency in the community.
The facts are clear: Hon. Daniel has lived in Itire-Ikate LCDA for over 46 years, having been born and bred in the area and contributing significantly to its development and welfare. His voter’s card, previously registered in Lagos Island due to his work with President Bola Tinubu, has been transferred to reflect his current residence.
By law, only registered voters can seek election, regardless of their specific location within a constituency. INEC recognizes this principle, and numerous political office holders have been elected without their registered voter’s card reflecting their exact area of residence.
We condemn these baseless attacks and urge the public to verify facts before spreading misinformation. Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo Daniel’s commitment to Itire-Ikate LCDA is genuine, and his eligibility is unquestionable. Let’s focus on progress, not propaganda.
