The Leaders We Have Only Think Of Themselves – Gumi

Published on

Shaikh Ahmad Mahmoud Gumi, a renowned Islamic scholar, has claimed that Nigeria is still looking for strong leaders who can propel the country forward.

According to him, such leaders put citizen wellbeing over personal wealth accumulation. The Imam delivered these statements at an award ceremony hosted by the Sultan Bello Primary School Old Pupils Association (SUBOPA) in honor of two of their members, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (Rtd) and Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (Rtd), who recently acquired government jobs.

The Federal Government appointed Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin as Secretary of the Civil Defence, Fire Service, and Immigration Board (CDCFIB), and Brigadier General Abdulkadir Gumi (Rtd) as Chairman of Zamfara State’s Security Trust Fund Board.

Gumi hailed Major General Jibrin as a hardworking, disciplined, and dedicated army officer during his service, underlining that Nigeria requires people like him in leadership positions because of his dedication and patriotism.

“This is because Nigeria is greatly in search of great leaders to lead this country. We need well-trained and well-mannered people who genuinely want to assist others, not just themselves. People with good qualities and character should be the ones pushed into leadership positions in this country.

“Not the kind of leaders we have in this part of the country who only think of themselves and their families,” he said.

He also raised concern about the impact of instability in places such as Zamfara, claiming that it has had a substantial impact on education and community stability.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
