The Most Influential Person on AIB this week is Sundar Pichai

Pichai Sunadarajan, popularly known as Sundar Pichai is from Tamil Nadu. He was born in Madurai India, on June 10, 1972, but has now taken American citizenship. His father and mother are engineers and stenographers by profession.

He is presently the Chief Executive Officer of a multinational company, Google and Apple.

Sundai studied engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. He received his Master’s degree in material sciences and engineering, from Stanford University and an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 2002.

Before pursuing a degree at the University of Pennsylvania, he accepted a position as a product manager at Allied Materials, a semiconductor manufacturer in Silicon Valley.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, he accepted a position as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co. His roles as a product manager and consultant at two great firms prepared him for his new position at Google in 2004.

During his interview, before his employment at Google, Pichai admitted his ignorance of Google’s new product. Due to this, he was referred to as the candidate with ‘’Intellect Humility’’.

On April 1, 2004, he was employed as the innovative efforts and product manager for search engine clients. He was charged with the responsibility of developing Google’s toolbar and Chrome.

These two search engines grew to become the world’s most used internet browse under his watch.

Sundar presented the Chrome Operating System in November 2009 and later Chromebook was launched for trial and testing purposes in 2011. Pichai also introduced an open-source new video codec, VP8, made by Google, and later they brought it into a new shape called WebM.

Pichai is married to Anjali Pichai and they both have two children.
