Tinubu Nominates New Minister To Replace APC National Chairman In His Cabinet

President Bola Tinubu has put forward the name of Bernard Doro, who hails from Plateau State, to serve in the position of a Minister within the Federal Republic.

The declaration regarding this matter was issued through a formal communication on Tuesday, October 21, delivered by the Special Adviser to the President responsible for Information and Strategy, namely Bayo Onanuga, and he verified that Tinubu has forwarded a correspondence to the Senate in order to obtain approval for Doro’s appointment.

The selection of Doro for this role follows the recent choice of Nentawe Yilwatda to become the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the month of July. Prior to that, Yilwatda had been functioning as the Minister in charge of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Having entered the world on January 23, 1969, within the community of Kwall located in the Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro possesses over twenty years of expertise in his profession that covers areas such as clinical work, handling of pharmaceuticals, providing strategic direction in leadership roles, and involvement in community-based activities throughout regions in Nigeria as well as the United Kingdom.

He possesses academic qualifications in the fields of Pharmacy and Law, along with an MBA that emphasizes strategies for businesses driven by information technology, and additionally a Master’s degree focused on Advanced Clinical Practice. Furthermore, Doro holds the status of an Independent Prescriber and serves as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, bringing practical involvement from his time in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), during which he has operated in environments like urgent care facilities, walk-in medical centres, general medical practices, and various hospital departments.

In addition to his pursuits within the medical field, Doro has taken the lead in multiple programs aimed at mentoring young people and creating positive social changes, which have been implemented both among communities in the diaspora and within local areas back home.

Onanuga pointed out that President Tinubu anticipates that the Senate will provide “due consideration” to this particular nomination and proceed with speed regarding the request for confirmation.
