Mfonobong David Udoudom, a lecturer in the University of Nigeria’s (UNN) General Studies division, has been suspended by the university’s management.

He was caught on camera after it was said that he attempted to have s*x with a married woman.

The instructor teaches Nigerian people and culture as well as peace and conflict resolution at the university’s General Studies Programme (GSP) Unit.

Recall that on Monday, April 22, Udoudom, an Akwa Ibom native, was reportedly caught red-handed trying to have s*x with the married student in his office at the GSP complex.

According to information obtained, the lecturer allegedly sought s*x from the student in exchange for good results.

The student told her husband, and together they set up a trap for the lecturer and caught him red-handed with the assistance of the school’s security and the dean of students affairs.

In a statement released on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the University’s acting public relations officer, Dr. Okwun Omeaku, revealed that the indefinite suspension is effective immediately awaiting the resolution of a disciplinary panel the university established to look into the incident.

“The management of the University of Nigeria has suspended Mr (not a Professor) Mfonobong David Udoudom, a lecturer in our General Studies division, who was caught in a video allegedly harassing a female student,” the statement read.

“The indefinite suspension is with immediate effect pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel constituted by the University to investigate the incident.

“For the records, the University of Nigeria has a zero tolerance for s*xual misconducts involving our staff and students

“UNN is among the few universities in the country that has a S*xual Harassment Policy, which guides the relationship between our staff and students in particular and among our male and female staff.

“As a university, we are committed to protecting our students from any form of abuse and exploitation, and the University Management will not hesitate to punish Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom, according to our rules, if he is found guilty by our disciplinary panel.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
