1 John 4:11-18 Psalm 71(72):1-2,10-13 Mark 6:45-52
CULTIVATE AN ENVIRONMENT OF GOD’S LOVE WITH OTHERS
The readings today present an insightful framework for comprehending divine love. It prompts a critical self-reflection on how we engage with others. Are we approaching our interactions as vessels of God’s love? Have we cultivated an environment within ourselves to fully experience this love, enabling us to extend it to those around us? Furthermore, do we heed Christ’s reassurance, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid?”
This path laid out by Jesus may appear narrow, yet its essence is uncomplicated: it bears a mystery that is simultaneously perfect, just, and true. We are called to dismiss fear, embrace a love for God, love our neighbors, and remain open to receiving love ourselves.
As we navigate this Christmas season and beyond, this principle should illuminate our journey: God is love, and His presence is ever with us.
As we enter the new year, may you continue to seek guidance from the Light of Christ in all endeavors and circumstances that arise. Amen.
