Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has officially secured a season-long loan move to Bundesliga club Werder Bremen for the 2025/26 season.

The Nigerian striker departs from Bayer Leverkusen, where he contributed to their title-winning squad, and is anticipated to add significant attacking strength to Bremen’s forward line.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano disclosed that Werder Bremen will partially cover the striker’s wages as part of the loan agreement.

Boniface shared his excitement about the transfer, stating on the club’s official website: “The discussions with those in charge convinced me to make the move to Werder Bremen. I want to contribute with my performances to helping us achieve our common goals this season. I’m looking forward to my new team and my time at Werder Bremen.”

Head coach Horst Steffen is confident that Boniface will prove to be a vital addition: “Victor is physically incredibly strong, has a very good finish, and good pace. He shone as a goalscorer and assist provider in Bayer Leverkusen’s championship-winning season. I’m sure he can become a key player in our group this season.”

Peter Niemeyer, Head of Professional Football at Bremen, also lauded the acquisition, noting: “We are pleased that we were able to complete the loan and secure Victor’s services. He has shown outstanding performances in the Bundesliga and proven his qualities. We are convinced that he can continue that with us.”

The transfer represents a new chapter for Boniface, who will be keen to make an immediate impact and support Bremen in achieving a successful Bundesliga campaign.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
