She admitted the charge and told the court how she hit her 8-year-old son in the private parts with an iron bar after he stole a piece of chicken. She claimed she didn’t have the authority to harm the child.

According to the facts of the case, Banda hit the boy with a sharp object the day after Christmas, causing him to sustain a deep wound on his spectrum.

As the boy cried, a good Samaritan came to his aid and rushed him to the hospital, where he was treated and a medical report was issued, according to Simuusa.

He claimed that a detective inspector Munalula from the Kabwata Police Station took up the case and apprehended Banda, who was on the run at the time.

Banda requested leniency, claiming that she had no idea she would injure her own child to such an extent.
