Woman Jumps Into Lagos Lagoon After Reportedly Speaking To Her fiancé

A woman whose name is yet to be confirmed and is thought to be in her thirties reportedly leapt into the lagoon at the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State on November 10, 2022 .

It was learned that the woman had gotten out of a taxi, walked over to the bridge’s edge, and then dove in.

A search and rescue team has been organized to look for the woman, according to Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, who confirmed the occurrence in a situation report.

Dr Olufemi said, “Upon arrival of the LRT at the incident scene, investigation revealed that a lady in her late thirties (30s) plunged into the Lagos lagoon.

“Further investigation revealed that the lady alighted from a cab on the bridge and plunged into the lagoon.”

The cab driver claimed the woman was engaged in a contentious argument with her fiancé before getting out of the car, according to the LASEMA boss.

He said, “The LRT men of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LASWA and officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) are currently on the ground working better together to search for the victim.”
