Your Body Needs To Move Every Day!! Don’t Skip

Movement isn’t all about sweaty exercises outdoors or at the gym. Moving your body is anything as long as you lift a part of your body (okay, I’m joking) but moving can come in many forms, it could be as little as walking from your chair to the TV stand or up the stairs to your home.

Overall, any form of movement is beneficial for our minds and body and everyone encourages it but they don’t often talk about the “why”. Why do I need to move my body?

Movement relieves stress
It allows you to take a break from work
It improves your mood
It helps you gain clarity.

Have you ever taken a walk in nature or a walk outside of your office/workspace, how do you feel? You feel free, don’t you? This is exactly what moving your body does to your overall mental health.

Here are some other benefits of moving the body;

  • Movement helps you sleep better: Adding exercise to your daily life promotes deeper sleep ensuring you rest well. Sleep in turn affects the whole of your day. To get the most out of your day, you need to enough sleep for what your body needs.
  • It boosts your energy: physical activity boosts cardiovascular health, which gives you more energy throughout the day. It naturally gives you a positive mindset throughout the day.
  • It promotes weight loss: Set a time for as little as 10 – 20 minutes a day to engage in physical activity. This will help you maintain your current weight at the very least. Then incorporating diet will give you optimal results.

Here are some easy ways that you can move around each day:

  1. Take a walk around the neighborhood.
  2. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  3. Get up from your desk a couple of times a day and take a walk around your building
  4. Leave out weekends for exercise at the gym or outdoors.

Physical activities offer much more benefits to the overall mind and body which helps us through our day. It improves our focus which in turn gives us the clarity to achieve our goals.
