55 AA Batteries Discovered In A Lady’s Stomach And Bum

Many batteries were discovered in a woman’s stomach and up her butt after she visited the hospital.

The 66-year-old lady had a total of 55 batteries in her body, according to the medical staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin.

An X-ray revealed foreign items in her body, and it was then that the batteries were discovered.

According to Live Science, doctors hoped she would have passed them spontaneously as they weren’t clogging her gastrointestinal tract.

The woman was able to deposit five AAs in the first week, according to the Irish Medical Journal study, but the remaining were stuck.

The lady began experiencing stomach cramps and the doctors explained that this was caused by the weight of the batteries, which made her bloated tummy dangle above her pubic bone.

After 46 of the batteries were removed by surgeons, four batteries were still stuck in her colon.

According to The Huffington Post, doctors “milked” them into her rectum to get them out of her anus, rounding up the number of batteries she had ingested to a total of 55 AA and AAA batteries.
