Alex Vines, head of program in Africa at Chatham House, revealed that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has not responded to the Institute’s invitation.

Mr Vines stated it in his opening remarks when he hosted Labor LP presidential candidate Peter Obi at Chatham House in London on Monday.

He said the independent policy body has previously hosted all progressive Congresses and hosted APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

Vines added that he will welcome Mahmoud Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) to the institute on January 17 and 18 respectively.

“We have sent an invitation to the candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar but he is yet to reply to our invitation,” the director said.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that on January 10, the presidential candidate of PDP arrived in London for a meeting with UK government officials and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
