Dr Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, has tested positive for Covid-19 and is displaying mild symptoms, according to her spokesperson, who announced this on Tuesday, August 16.

On the final day of a family beach vacation in South Carolina, just days after President Biden’s full recovery from a week-long sickness, Jill tested positive for COVID-19.

Although been double-vaccinated and having previously received boosters shots, she exhibited “cold-like symptoms” on Monday night, according to her spokesperson, Elizabeth Alexander, and decided to take a PCR test.

The 71-year-old first lady will isolate herself for at least five days and take the antiviral Paxlovid, according to the statement.

According to Alexander, “Close contacts of the First Lady have been notified. She is currently staying at a private residence in South Carolina and will return home after she receives two consecutive negative COVID tests.”

For over a week, the first lady has been on a vacation on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, with President Joe Biden. She was supposed to go to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday for an event before contacting Covid.
