Tinubu Orders Ministers To Brief Nigerians On Their Activities

Published on

President Bola Tinubu has directed all ministers in his administration to furnish Nigerians with a full account of their stewardship, effective immediately.

The decision was delivered by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, February 11.

Idris added that the ministers’ briefings are intended to keep the public informed about the government’s efforts and achievements, as well as to allow Nigerians to ask questions.

This decision follows Tinubu’s previous decree, which compelled ministers to sign performance guidelines before being sworn in, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

In addition, the Federal Government has begun holding ministerial press briefings as part of its attempts to increase transparency and accountability in governance. Idris claimed that President Tinubu has asked all ministers to make regular media appearances to update the public on their activities and policies.

“These briefings will serve as a platform for ministers to directly engage with Nigerians, highlight key developments in their respective ministries, and address public concerns,” said Idris.

The Minister stated that other ministers would take turns addressing Nigerians weekly as part of the continuing ministerial press briefings.

The initiative comes as Tinubu’s administration approaches its second anniversary, underscoring the government’s commitment to informing residents about its initiatives and policies.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
