Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. This admonition couldn’t have been more true at any other time than in the present age. We live in a world of intrigues, and with men whose hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. It is a world of friends who are worse than enemies, brothers who betray each other for a morsel of bread. Not all smiles are smiles of goodwill; not all kisses are kisses of love. Behind many of these lie deep treachery and hate filled with the venom of a viper.
Wisdom is important to direct and only the intuitively wise and spiritually discerning can uncover all the land mines and snares set on our paths by men of wicked hearts. But when we walk with the LORD, He sheds His light on our way and so exposes all the hidden plots of men who though laugh with us, do not mean well for us.
This week, God wants us to be very discerning, taking nothing on their face values. He wants us to seek guidance on all things from the Holy Spirit who alone sees the hearts of men, for before Him there is nothing hidden. Good morning and a splendid week ahead.
