15yr-old Boy Jailed For Killing A Girl Who Refused To Kiss Him

The high rate of crime committed by teenagers is alarming! A 15-year-old boy who shot a girl dead for not kissing him was sentenced to 10 years in jail for murder. Where and how he got the gun is still a shock to many.

In addition to his jail term, 3 years for unlawful firearm possession, and 1 year for unlawful ammunition possession were included.

The Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court handed down the decision on Tuesday, January 28, concluding the case, according to Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg.

“The accused shot and killed Naeema Marshall, 14 years at the time of the incident, who was visiting her aunt in Kleinvlei on Monday, July 17, 2023, after she refused to give him a kiss,” Twigg stated.

Crucial evidence and witness statements were obtained throughout the investigation conducted by the Provincial Organised Crime and Anti-Gang Unit, which handled the case.

The mother of the teenage girl; Fadeema Marshall, is bitterly disappointed at the prison sentence handed down to the killer.

“I don’t think the punishment he got was enough for me. Within seven years he’ll be free again and what next is going to happen? Who is going to be his next victim?” said the mother.

Naeema Marshall was the youngest of five children, attended Beacon Valley High School and was remembered as a jovial teen who stood up for herself.

“Her time on earth is done. The things she did meant a lot to everybody. She always made everybody smile. She was a jolly person,” said her mother.

“I’m going to appeal this case. My children aren’t satisfied with what he got. Though it’s not going to bring their sister back, they feel it isn’t enough for him.”

Justice will prevail.

We can only hope the family of the deceased girl find peace and healing from this loss.
