Airport Police Command to Honour Fallen Heroes on National Police Day 2026

The Airport Police Command is set to honour fallen officers on National Police Day 2026, with a ceremony aimed at promoting community trust and stronger police-public engagement. The event, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” will include tributes, wreath-laying, and reflections on officers who died while protecting passengers, airport workers, and critical infrastructure.

This year’s National Police Day is part of a broader effort to recognize the sacrifices of police officers and improve relationships between law enforcement and the public. The Nigeria Police Force has used this day to stage nationwide activities aimed at public engagement, professional pride, and civic outreach.

The Airport Police Command’s decision to honour fallen officers reflects a growing policing doctrine in Nigeria that places community engagement alongside enforcement, especially in sensitive public spaces like airports.
