Asisat Oshoala: “My Dad Wasn’t Happy With My Shirtless Celebration.”

Africa’s number 1 football icon; Asisat Oshoala, has discussed how her father reacted to her decision to celebrate her third goal against Australia on Thursday in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

During the thrilling match in Brisbane, the captain of the Super Falcons increased Nigeria’s lead over Australia in the second half.

After scoring in the game, which Nigeria won 3-2, the Barcelona star let out a shirtless celebration.

Football fans and the online community had a range of reactions when Oshoala removed her jersey, leaving only her bra top on the field.

However, some claimed the Super Falcons striker’s shirtless victory gesture was the result of excessive exuberance and claimed she was still covered in contrast to many other women who wander the streets nearly nude.

However, the African football queen’s father was also among those who voiced disapproval of her celebratory manner.

Oshoala posted this on her Instagram profile and said that her father had complained about the way she celebrated.

She posted pictures of several of the match’s winning moments that were captured on the field, including the shirtless ones.

The five-time recipient of the African Women’s Footballer Award added the following statement to the post: “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, Life is a collection of MOMENTS. #Alhamdulilah #Grateful #Moments.”
