Augustine Eguavoen Invites 30 Players For Ghana Clash

Augustine Eguavoen, Super Eagles Head Coach, has invited a total of 30 home-based players to camp as the Nigeria Football Federation steps up its commitment to guaranteeing the Super Eagles B’s qualifying for next year’s African Nations Championship final.

The 8th edition of the continental championship, which is designated solely for players who play for teams in their home countries’ domestic leagues and have normal contracts, will take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in February 2025.

Rabiu Ali, a veteran midfielder for Kano Pillars who has scored eight goals this season, is among the players called up, along with Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole, Rivers United defender Steven Mayo, and Abia Warriors’ dynamic forward Sunday Megwo.

Other players are Enyimba FC goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena, Remo Stars wingback Ismail Sadiq, Enugu Rangers midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye, and Nasarawa United attacker Anas Yusuf.

The players will gather to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, to prepare ahead of the first leg of the qualifying match against Ghana’s Black Stars B, which is scheduled for Sunday, December 22nd, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The second leg will be held on Saturday, December 28th, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
