After spending days in custody following a recent incident with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is now free.
Bobrisky was arrested while trying to escape the nation over the Seme Border.
While serving a jail sentence for naira misuse, the attempt to escape and subsequent capture coincide with the current investigation into allegations of bribery of officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
But after being released, Bobrisky posted an encouraging message and a new photo of himself on social media on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
Bobrisky stated in the Instagram post that strong women never seek sympathy but instead remain resilient.
“Strong women don’t play the victim. They don’t make themselves look pitiful and don’t point fingers. They stand and they deal,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Bobrisky may face fresh criminal charges over claims of serving his jail term in a private apartment and bribing officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him.
