Manchester United and Feyenoord have reportedly reached a €17 million agreement for the purchase of left-back Tyrell Malacia.
It is understood that the proposed agreement would include a sell-on clause and calls for United to pay a guaranteed €15 million, with a possible further €2 million in add-ons.
Lyon had been after Malacia and had stated their willingness to pay €13 million upfront with €2 million in add-ons, but United stepped in at the last minute with a better offer.
To consummate the probable deal, United still needs to reach an agreement on personal terms.
According to the director of Feyenoord, Frank Arnesen, “The agreement with Man United is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell.
“If Malacia says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”
During the 2021–22 season, Malacia was a fixture in Feyenoord’s first squad, making 50 appearances across all competitions.
The 22-year-old made his international debut for the Netherlands in September of last year and has since earned five caps.
Since starting with the first squad in 2017, Malacia, a graduate of the Feyenoord academy, has played 136 games for his home club.
United are also in contact with Frenkie de Jong, a fellow international from the Netherlands.
The Old Trafford club and Barcelona were in positive talks over a deal worth approximately €65 million guaranteed with additional add-ons.
