Canada And Mexico Trade War Makes 2026 World Cup ‘Exciting’ – Trump

On Friday, March 7, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed plans for a White House task force dedicated to coordinating the 2026 FIFA World Cup, brushing aside worries that trade disagreements with Mexico and Canada, the event’s fellow hosts, might adversely affect the proceedings.

From the Oval Office, with FIFA President Gianni Infantino by his side, Trump fielded questions about how persistent conflicts among the trio of countries could influence the championship.
“Oh, I believe it’ll add more thrill to it,” Trump replied. “A bit of strain is beneficial … it heightens the excitement considerably.”

Subsequently, the president put his signature on an executive order officially launching the 2026 World Cup task force, which he will lead. He called the occasion “the most massive sporting spectacle ever recorded.”

“We’re setting up a task force, a highly significant one — based in the White House — and it’s focused on the FIFA World Cup of 2026, which, as you’re aware, is a major happening,” Trump stated.

Infantino underscored the financial advantages of the tournament, noting it would produce 200,000 jobs and contribute roughly $40 billion to the economy. “And beyond that, we’ll spread delight and cheer across the globe, and that’s invaluable, without a doubt,” Infantino elaborated.

He expressed gratitude to Trump for initiating the task force, stressing the necessity of making sure all attendees feel secure and appreciated throughout the event. “That’s why it’s crucial that the government assembles this White House Task Force,” Infantino remarked.

The 2026 World Cup will mark the debut of a 48-team format, greatly enlarging the tournament’s magnitude. Infantino likened it to staging three NFL Super Bowls daily for a full month. “That’s truly astonishing when you ponder it,” Trump commented. “I’ve never heard it phrased that way.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
