Dele Omosehin Applauds Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Owena Water Revival Project: A Lifeline for Ondo Residents

Philanthropist and entrepreneur Dele Omosehin has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the groundbreaking Owena Water Revival Project, recently launched by Governor Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This ambitious initiative, which involves the rehabilitation of the Owena Dam and the start of water supply projects supported by AFD and AfDB, is seen as a monumental step forward for the people of Ondo State.

As a prominent contender for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the upcoming 2027 elections, Omosehin hailed the project as a long-awaited answer to the community’s prayers for reliable water access.

In a vibrant statement released by his media team, he emphasized, “The Governor’s promise to end the era of chronic water scarcity is not just a campaign slogan—it’s a commitment to tangible change that will enhance the quality of life for millions.”

Highlighting the critical nature of this undertaking, Omosehin remarked, “Water is life, and by reviving the long-neglected Owena Dam, Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated his administration’s deep commitment to the health, dignity, and well-being of every resident.”

As the founder of the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation, Omosehin views the Owena Dam rehabilitation not just as a water project, but as a new era of infrastructural growth for the state. He praised the ambitious scope of the project, which encompasses restoring the Owena Water Treatment Plant, creating new transmission mains, and expanding urban distribution networks.

Additionally, he celebrated the introduction of Mobile Solar-Powered Irrigation Pumps for local farmers, a game-changer for agricultural productivity and a solid step towards diversifying the state’s economy.

Speaking of proactive health measures, Omosehin commended the plan to provide Water Quality Testing Kits and Treatment Tablets to households. “This initiative is a powerful tool in the fight against waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid, safeguarding our communities’ health,” he asserted.

While lauding the water project, Omosehin also recognized Governor Aiyedatiwa’s steadfast commitment to infrastructure improvement across all sectors and regions of the state. He pointed out significant developments, such as the dualization of vital roads—Akungba-Ikare, Akure-Idanre, and Okitipupa-Igbokoda—and efforts in urban renewal, healthcare enhancement, and digital education.

“The Governor’s focus on completing inherited projects alongside new transformative initiatives reflects his pragmatic leadership and dedication to his ‘Our Ease’ Agenda,” he noted.

As an entrepreneur who deeply understands the profound impact of government investments in education, health, and empowerment through his foundation, Omosehin remarked, “This water initiative is not just a project; it is a life-saving economic intervention that can uplift countless families. I urge the contractors to approach this project with the care and integrity it truly deserves.”

With unwavering support for the Aiyedatiwa administration and the APC’s goal of delivering meaningful change to the people of Ondo State, especially in the Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Omosehin looks to a brighter and more prosperous future for his community.
