You may be thinking of throwing in the towel: don’t give up just yet! This is what God is saying to you this new week. It is strength to keep holding on even when things seem not to be working, but it is a show of weakness to throw in the towel just because results seem delayed. Peter had toiled all night and caught nothing. At the break of day, rather than throw away his unproductive net, he chose rather to wash it and to mend it. This is exactly what God demands of you this week; pick up that net and wash it again, preparing it for a new experience. Like Peter, you do not have to debate this. Yes, this may not make so much sense to you at the moment.
Trying again may not look like one of the attractive options opened to you, but if you can say like Peter, “nevertheless, at your word I will let down the net”, you would be amazed how much your previously unproductive net can catch all because God is involved now.
