Famous Igbo Businesswoman Kidnapped In Front Of Her Supermarket

Mrs. Ugochukwu Okpala, a famous businesswoman in Lokoja, has been kidnapped, according to the Kogi State Police Command.

Okpala, the CEO of the Seat of Wisdom Supermarket, was abducted on Friday evening immediately after the store closed for the day, according to the DAILY POST.

The victim was allegedly kidnapped in front of her grocery store on Gadumo-Ganaja road in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, confirmed the incident on Saturday, stating that the police were briefed that just as Okpala was ready to enter her car after closing for the day, she was grabbed, put into their own vehicle, and taken to an unknown location.

The kidnappers abandoned Okpala’s car and sped away in their own vehicle, according to the police spokesperson.

Aya stated that the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Edwards Eboka has mobilized officers to ensure the release of the abducted victim in coordination with other sister security agencies.

He said, “We got the information about the kidnap and the Commissioner of Police has activated all security architecture to ensure that the lady is freed without hurt while the culprits would be apprehended and brought to justice.”
