The Femi Gbajabiamila Junior/Senior Secondary School, a cutting-edge educational facility facilitated by the Chief of Staff to the President and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, was officially commissioned on a historic and unforgettable day in the Itire–Ikate Local Council Development Area, drawing dignitaries from all over the state.
In his address, the Executive Chairman, Itire- Ikate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo The Executive Chairman of the Itire-uIkate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo praised Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila for his relentless dedication to educational progress and imaginative leadership. Using the phrase “a monumental legacy that will serve generations yet unborn,” he said the project’s facilitator “has inscribed his name in gold through numerous interventions that continue to uplift our communities.”
Hon. Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo also warmly received the representative of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Basic Education, Hon. Jamiu Alli-Balogun. The Council boss acknowledged the presence of the Itire–Ikate APC Apex Leaders Forum led by Chief D. O. Adenekan, and Alhaja Medinat Akinyemi-Obe, Director-General of the National Senior Citizens Center, who led the Coker–Aguda delegation.
Representing the Chief of Staff at the ceremony was Rep. Arc. Lanre Okunlola (Member, House of Representatives, Surulere Constituency II), who officially commissioned the school amidst cheers and commendations from community members, political leaders, and education stakeholders.
Other notable dignitaries at the event included HRM Oba Lateef Atanda Adams, the Onikate of Ikate Kingdom; Hon. Bamidele Sulaiman Yusuf, Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government; Hon. Azeez Ogidan, Executive Chairman of Coker–Aguda LCDA; and Rep. Fuad Laguda (MHR, Surulere Constituency I). Lagos State House of Assembly Members, Surulere Constituency 1/2, Hon. Mosunmola Rotimi Sangodara and Hon. Desmond Elliot, Also in attendance were Hon. Yetunde Jimba, Vice Chairman of Itire–Ikate LCDA; Mrs. Vivian Odunayo, wife of the Executive Chairman; members of the Legislative Councils of Surulere, Itire–Ikate, and Coker–Aguda LCDAs; the Itire–Ikate Management Team led by Mrs. Esther Ajose, Council Manager; traditional rulers, community development leaders, market associations, artisans, and other stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State Government, Hon. Jamiu Alli-Balogun commended the synergy between federal, state, and local governments in driving educational development. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering world-class learning environments across the state, in line with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda.
The event concluded on a celebratory note as political leaders and community stakeholders jointly reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Rep. Lanre Okunlola’s developmental strides and unanimously endorsed the duo for a second term in office
