Free Surgeries Bring Hope to 3,000 Imo Residents

The Jennifer Etuh Foundation has launched a free medical outreach program in Imo State, offering surgeries and healthcare services to 3,000 residents. The five-day program, held at the Jennifer Etuh Medical Centre in Umunoha, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, aims to provide quality healthcare to the underprivileged.

The foundation’s Program Manager, Joe Otu, revealed that 1,366 lives were touched through 3,318 medical interventions in just two days, with 95 eye surgeries performed and 773 other eye patients receiving medical attention. The outreach has provided services including triage, general consultations, dental care, eye care, and general surgeries.

The foundation’s vision is to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to Nigerians, particularly those in rural areas. The outreach is part of the foundation’s efforts to complement government initiatives in delivering quality healthcare services.

Beneficiaries praised the foundation for the life-changing services, expressing gratitude for the free surgeries and medical care. One beneficiary, Kelechi Onyinwoka, underwent eye surgery and was able to see clearly afterward.

The Jennifer Etuh Foundation operates across six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, with hospitals in Gombe, Cross River, Imo, Kogi, Kaduna, and Osun states. The foundation relies on partnerships and donations to sustain its outreach programs.

The outreach has also provided health education and promoted preventive care, empowering residents to take charge of their health. The foundation plans to continue its efforts, reaching more communities and impacting lives positively.

Other organizations, such as Seplat Energy and the Nigerian Air Force, have also undertaken similar initiatives, providing free eye surgeries and healthcare services to thousands of Nigerians.

The Jennifer Etuh Foundation’s efforts demonstrate the power of compassion and community service, inspiring others to join the fight against healthcare inequality.
