Funke Akindele, a well-known actress and filmmaker, posted a touching message on the posthumous birthday of her late mother.
She paid tribute to her mother on her Instagram page. Akindele highlighted how her mother’s principles still serve as a guidance as she thought back on her attempts to lead a meaningful life that would make her mother proud.
She wrote: “Happy heavenly Birthday to my darling mother!!! Iya Bunmi, I want you to know that I’m working hard to build a life that makes you proud. I’m prioritising my well-being, just as you advised and striving to live each day with purpose and joy.
“Sister, Papa, Mama and I are thriving, and your grandchildren are growing, filled with love and curiosity. They always talk about you and pray for your soul. Keep resting in perfect peace, Mum. Your love and legacy will forever be in our hearts”.
