Governor Adeleke Orders Manhunt For Arsonists Who Set Osun Court Ablaze

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denounced the arson attack on the Ilesa High Court 2 building, labeling it an unwarranted assault on the state’s judiciary and a direct threat to democratic principles. The governor has mandated a thorough investigation into the incident and instructed security agencies to capture those responsible.

The court building was set on fire on Sunday night, leading to the destruction of critical court documents, exhibits, and extensive structural damage. Reports suggest that by the time firefighters reached the scene, the destruction was already complete, with files linked to high-profile cases among those consumed by the flames.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke emphasized the urgency of taking action, stating that the culprits must face justice. He also ordered security agencies to enhance monitoring around all court facilities across the state to prevent future incidents.

Adeleke further directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to work alongside the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to promptly restore the damaged court building.

The governor characterized the attack as not merely a criminal act but a significant challenge to the rule of law. He underscored the importance of protecting the judiciary, which he described as a fundamental pillar of democracy, and urged citizens and stakeholders to back efforts to shield judicial institutions from similar threats.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
