Hear What A Concerned Citizen Has To Say About Unhealthy Marriage

A woman who was set ablaze by her husband on Tuesday at Abagana, Njikoka local government area of Anambra State on suspicion of infidelity, has died.

In a video that went viral on social media, Mrs. Chioma Nwanna, a mother of six children, was seen criticizing her husband while falling to the ground with burns.

According to an Abagana source, the guy had argued with his wife after accusing her of being a mischievous woman who flirted with other men.

It was reported that during the heated confrontation, the man doused her in fuel, causing her to catch fire. She passed away after being taken to the hospital.

From the viewpoint of a concerned citizen Mrs Nkem Iloeje-Agu… she said;

I have taken this long to write on this matter, because I hate to sound like a broken record. But, I suddenly felt motivated to still talk, for the sake of those, hard of hearing. Please, hear me:

Whether you’re a man, or a woman, it is unhealthy to believe that a marriage is intrinsically a permanent bond. It is also unhealthy to believe that, by virtue of marriage, your spouse is your property, or belongs to you, whether they like it, or not. It is also unhealthy to think you can treat your spouse however you like, with little concern for their feelings. Therefore:

  1. If you know cheating would hurt him/ her, don’t do it. Instead, quit the marriage, and go be with your side-piece;
  2. You have no right to become physically aggressive because someone has cheated on you. Yes, you may be hurt, but you have two options. Decide to bear it, and work with the cheater at fixing things. Or bale out. Leave the cheater. Dash the cheater to their side-piece. You have no right to harm someone’s child just because you happen to be married to them;
  3. When all else fails, divorce is a viable option.

Do not destroy you spouse. Even if you do not love them any longer, their parent, their siblings, their family, and your children still love them.

Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
