A man’s desperate attempt to win back his divorced wife resulted in a fiery catastrophe at his in-laws’ home in Chitungwiza.

The tragedy happened on Wednesday, leaving the man with serious burns all over his body and fighting for his life.

The man, 44-year-old Godfrey Kaseke, was immensely disturbed by Juliet Dzumbunu’s decision to leave their marriage and start dating someone new.

She remained steadfast in her resolve to move on despite what sources said was his persistent pleading for a reconciliation.

The man allegedly devised a frightening plan to confront his wife at her brother’s house, driven by rage and despair.

He apparently prepared to injure her by arming himself with a copper cable, a kitchen knife, and a container of gasoline.

Before the woman managed to escape through a window, witnesses claimed that he even strangled her.

Together, neighbors and bystanders put out the fire. Unfortunately, the fire destroyed everything within the house, turning it all to ashes.

A local news source stated that authorities are looking into the event. The jilted man’s family, it was stated, had let the wife’s family down by not reacting quickly to the upsetting situation.
