I Spend N3m On Diesel Monthly, Paul Okoye Laments

The singer — fondly called Rudeboy — took to his Instastory on Wednesday to register his frustration over the severe economic challenges in the country; most especially the increase in petroleum product prices.

Okoye said a couple of years ago, he purchased his first car for N120,000.

He, however, lamented that he now spends “N3 million monthly on purchasing diesel”.

He also wondered how the average Nigerian is surviving amid the harsh economic challenges in the country.

“I bought my first car 120k naira years back and I was very proud of that… Now I spend 3m naira on diesel for just a month… Total madness. Only God knows what a common man is going through,” he wrote.

Similarly, in 2022, Rudeboy recalled that he spent N1.4 million on diesel for his generator.

He however didn’t reveal if the money he spent on diesel was on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

During the 2023 general election, Paul, alongside Peter Okoye, his brother, was vocal in the Nigerian political space.

The duo declared their support for Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

President Bola Tinubu, who eventually won the election, announced an end to the fuel subsidy regime.
